Perkins M92 main engine driving a hydraulic pump. Hydraulic drive, hydraulic bow & stern thrusters. 7Kva Betaken 7 generator (1500rpm)
Hydraulic Drive
Perkins M92B 4 cylinder 4.23 litre engine driving a Parker Variable displacement piston pump that is connected to the propeller and to the bow and stern Archimedes screw thrusters. Control is through hand valves in the steering position. This system allows a completely variable ratio between engine and propeller speeds allowing propeller speeds of between 50 and 600 rpm for a normal engine speed of 1200 RPM. It also allows the barge to move sideways without any forward movement which is ideal for mooring.

An unusual Sagar Luxe Motor replica with just one cabin forward. And a large aft deck with scooter garage in the place of the more traditional aft cabin. Left the SAGAR yard in 2005 and in the same hands ever since.

Built for our clients to their specification this is an unusual Sagar. Owners cabin forward and an extended aft deck with scooter garage instead of an aft guest cabin. Very comfortable live aboard for two with occasional guests and a very convivial boat for entertaining with both wheelhouse and aft deck terrace larger than on standard Sagars. Add the fluid and total manoeuvrability offered by the hydraulic drive and you have a very interesting Sagar indeed.
