Known for innovative design and quality construction the Nicols yard is one of the most prolific constructers of inland waterway craft in France both for the hire and private markets. Heavily constructed to cope with hire fleet life, the 1170 is a member of the Sedan family of hire boats with their convivial “all on one level” day spaces and aft deck terrace opening directly on to the swim platform or the saloon and all this is topped off with a flybridge sun deck and outside steering position!

Four double cabins with beds 1.9m x 1.4m All cabins have standing headroom at the entrance but three have « coffin » beds. Two heads with showers. The sedan layout affords great day spaces with light bright saloon and panoramic windows and full width “patio” doors for great visibility. The Nicols 1170 is an easy boat to move around with just three steps separating the day spaces from the cabins and the swim platform, the terrace and the saloon all on one level. A practical kitchen with double sink, 220 litre fridge and three burner cooker with oven. 750 litres of water plus a 60 litre tank of hot water (heated by the engine) gives extended autonomy.
