Originally a riveted hull Luxemotor from 1924 this barge was bought by our vendors in 1982 and converted by them, interior design and construction being their profession. The vessel has undergone a number of upgrades since and looks very impressive, both inside and out.

The wheelhouse is large enough to allow convivial cruising with bench seating aft and doors either side direct to bollards for ease of manoeuvres. Classic “ships wheel” at the helm and a smart well laid out instrument panel. Aft down steps to a double cabin with walk around bed 1.9m x 1.4m Central heating from two radiators, lots of cupboards and draws and an ensuite macerator heads with wash basin. Headroom is 1.87 max. Forward from the wheelhouse is the main saloon. Spacious bright and airy with the same light wood finishings and a feel of solid quality. TV hidden in a cabinet. Heating and cooling from a nicely decorated reverse cycle air conditioning unit (different colour facades can be changed to suit your mood) and central heating from radiators. Headroom is 1.98m. Next is the galley which is better than many land-based kitchens I’ve seen. Masses of worktops, cupboards with slide out racks and drawers, five burner gas cooker with grill, oven and extractor fan. Big domestic sized fridge with freezer under and a dishwasher to take the pain out of washing up. Worktops, cupboards and flooring all colour matched and 1.9m headroom. A really professional job and a credit to our vendors. Next, we move forward via a corridor to starboard with washing machine plumbed into a cupboard under the gunwales and the main shower room to port with a vacu-flush heads and a good sized shower. Opening window for good ventilation and 1.89m headroom. Finally the guest cabin with two single berths 1.9m x 0.9 reducing to 0.7 to port and 1.9 X 0.8 reducing to 0.6 to starboard and 1.94m headroom. The whole boat gives an impression of well designed solid quality made for lasting comfort. Hot water comes from an immersion heater that is heated by mains electricity and the engine whilst cruising. The interior is insulated with a mix of spray foam and rockwool depending on the area and central heating is from a (red) diesel fired boiler to seven radiators. Two in the aft cabin, one plus an aero radiator in the wheelhouse, two in the saloon a heated towel rail in the shower room and a radiator in the forward cabin.

Comentario del broker
Luxemotor for sale in France. Boatshed Midi Canals is pleased to offer this Dutch barge for sale on the canals in the south of France.
Beautiful Luxe Motor hull shape with a Gardner 5LW in the engine room. The vessel has been in the same hands for over forty years and has cruised extensively in the UK, Belgium, and France with seven Channel crossings under her keel too. Professionally designed and executed interior with quality products and a standard of maintenance that can only impress.
It was a real pleasure to discover this liveaboard barge with ideal dimensions for both cruising and residential use.
