Comentario del broker
From the moment you step onto this fabulous barge, you'll be blown away by the creativity and attention to detail that makes this one of the most spectacular floating homes in London.
Every surface has been carefully chosen to provide contrast, texture, light and flow to each space on board and is a testament to the many, many hours of work the owner has put into first imagining the project and then delivering on it.
This 28m Dutch Barge was originally built in 1912 but the last few years have seen it transformed into this unique, floating home. It's now set up with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a huge open plan kitchen that leads right out onto the roof terrace and in total there is over 1,800 sq ft of living space.
The anthracite grey and oak panelling on the exterior is only a hint at the wonders inside. Entering into the galley/dining area, which is filled with light, you are greeted by an enormous breakfast bar/kitchen island, a Rayburn aga and separate oven and hob along with refridgerator, freezer and a wine fridge. The sliding doors make this a superb entertaining spot with guests able to enjoy the outdoor seating without being disconnected from the inside. To the aft, is a large cabin (currently used as a TV room) with en suite heads and shower.
Making your way down the floating, illuminated staircase you enter the saloon which is flanked on both sides by curved brass walls that throw light around in a variety of glints, flashes and shapes. At the far end, it's hard to miss a wall made of moss. It is preserved so requires no maintenance at all and the contrast between the textures of the curved, smooth brass on one side and the moss is a work of art. The reclaimed driftwood barn door leads into the master cabin with a huge double bed set into the recessed area in the bow. The Capitonné deep button velvet bespoke headboards are just another example of the level of thought that has gone into every corner of this barge.
There is a third cabin towards the aft which is served by a large bathroom that includes a solid brass bathtub. The cabin has a flush Macassar ebony 'tigerwood' wardrobe wall which conceals the doors to the main living area, the bathroom and wardrobe.
As with everything else on this boat, mechanically and structurally she is in good condition. She was surveyed in August 2021 with a new epoxy coating, anodes and a new BSS. The large engine room has good access to all ancillary equipment.
