The Contessa 34OOD has an injection moulded GRP hull. The glassfibre mat was laid up between two moulds, along with all the interior hull stiffening and reinforcements. The resin is then vacuum pumped through the mould. This construction method resulted in a very strong hull all the stiffening such as ribs, frames and stringers become an integral part of the boats moulded hull.
Hull below water line epoxy coated. Recently antifouled.

Comentario del broker
The Contessa 34 OOD (Off shore One Design) was designed to sail as an ocean racer, but as a one design it was also built with comfort in mind down below a genuine cruiser with racer performance when you want it. They were also the first production boat to be built with a resin injection moulding process - see further details in the construction section above. This particular boat has a non standard keel with a shallower draft of 1.49m compared to the standard draft of 1.93m, which is the cruising rather than the racing keel.
The yacht is well equipped it had a new engine in 2004 that has only completed 350 hours. The instrumentation is extensive and includes a chart plotter and radar. Recent upgrades also include a calorifier for pressurised hot water & new water tanks. She was also extensively rewired and new saloon lighting fitted.
