Comentario del broker
The name Atkin has long been associated as one of the best in design of classic wooden boats. Designed by William Atkin as the 'Eric' class in 1923, her design is based on the Norwegian sailing lifeboat designs of Colin Archer. This design is also made famous by the first non-stop round the world voyage in 1969 by RKJ in yacht Suhaili, also a 32' Eric class design.
This is example something special for the purists who appreciate the skill and quality of wooden constructed boats. She is a highly crafted unfinished project that is about 90% complete, now ready to be tailor-finished to your individual specification.
Built to plan as a part-time project by the owner who is a professional boat-builder, her hull was started in 2005 and completed 2011. The double-ended design of the standard 32' has been taken out to 36' LOA and the extra-strong laminate construction has been sheathed in epoxy, making her completely watertight with exceptional strength and durability.
Ketch rigged, currenty with a gaff main, bermudan mizzen and cutter bowsprit, she is now stored ashore. Her hull and engine have been launched and tested with running-in hours only. Items required for completion of this project;
New booms, masts stepped and rigged.
Internal wiring and plumbing.
Navigation and safety equipment.
Suite of sails and running rigging.
The finished project will make a classic dream-boat for someone that wants something really special...
