Broker's Comments

Back in the late ‘seventies, Westerly were selling oodles of cruising boats, but they wanted to cash in on the cruiser/racer market, so along came the Chris Hawkins designed GK24. This was closely followed by the GK29, designed by Mike Pocock and Lauren Giles. Well, it hit the ground running and sales and racing success followed in spades. So much so that 182 of them were built between 1978 and 1981.

The GK 29 is much more family friendly, with 6 berths, a decent chart table and standing headroom.

Nowadays they are still about – some in better condition than others, and this boat is definitely one of the better ones! She is clean and tidy, well looked after and has been in the same ownership since 2009. Sadly the owner has to move abroad – hence the sale.

She has had loads of new gear recently, her mainsail is new 2017, made by Sanders, and her B&G chart plotter (really cool!), AIS transponder and Wifi Module are all recent additions.

The owner also has a 10ft collapsible “Portabote” and Torqeedo Electric outboard – these are available for sale by separate negotiation.

Come along and we’ll have a look together – just ring me on 07885 521960 and we'll set something up.
