+ 1 Reef Winch. Stay sail stay and furler stay are 9mm Stainless Steel. The top & bottom rotator units on the Profurl Roller reefing system were returned to Profurl in 2002 & fitted with new bearings.(the old bearings worked fine but had gone a touch notchy).
The standing rigging, apart from the furler & staysail stay is 3/8" galvanised wire. It has been oiled annually with boiled linseed oil & is in first class condition. The stainless steel furler stay had to be replaced in Malaysia when two wire strands were found to be broken.

Leading edge of keel is 60mm solid bar, cockpit drains are 3/8" walled pipe, the edges of the frames & Stringers were ground & then given two coats of Zinc Rich Epoxy primer, as were the plates where the frames & stringers touched. After the hull was welded up it was grit blasted inside and there was a line of grey paint between the hull plate, frames and stringers. The inside of the hull was then given nine coats of epoxy paint & today after 15 years of use the hull inside is as good now as when the boat was launched. It is felt that this extra work was well worth the effort, building long life into the hull as steel boats mainly corrode from the inside out. The hull consists of the following plate thicknesses: 15mm bottom of keel, 6mm sides of keel, 4mm bottom two plates of the hull and rest of hull is 3mm. The anchor locker comprises of a 25mm thick wooden box bolted to the frames and fibreglass lined to make it watertight and a flexible drain tube is fitted to the aft end of the box which can be drained into a container. This prevents any salt water coming into contact with the hull. Before the hull fit out started the interior of the hull (after the nine coats of paint mentioned above) was sprayed with granulated cork down to the waterline and then given two coats of matt paint. This combats condensation very well & the present owners spent three winters in Southampton with no condensation problems. After putting on the cork, ceilings were fitted to the frames in every locker which keeps locker contents off the hull and there is a flow of air everywhere in the boat between the ceilings and the hull. In Trinidad during the Summer season most boats have terrible mildew problems, This vessel has had none during her stay there. All hatches are made in stainless steel, with stainless steel hatch coamings. The 30 CM High stanchions are bolted and welded to the deck. Painted, Antifouled and fresh anodes installed

Comentario del broker
We sold this boat to the current owners back in 2004 and in that time she has sailed pretty much constantly including Caribbean Mediterranean and Baltic trips.
Their days at sea are done for now and the boat is very much looking for a new owner. Last survey carried out 2010 the boat was recently lifted for fresh anti foul and anodes
If you were looking for a definition of the term "over engineered" this boat would be it. Generally considered to be one of the best steel yachts ever to see the light of day, the vessel was constructed along with her sister s/v over a period of 9 years (1979-1988) part time by two brothers, both Engineers by trade. The boats were built under cover in a purpose built building during that time. The specification of this vessel speaks for itself and anyone would be happy to take her anywhere in the world in all conditions. She's the most robust and well thought through blue water cruiser I have ever been aboard and anyone looking for such vessel will find none better. Perfect for 2 people looking to circumnavigate the globe. The sister boat is coincidentally also for sale currently with Boatshed Gibraltar.
These boat details are subject to contract.
