Comentario del broker
When Alan F Hill drew Sabre 27 in 1969, his brief was to create a yacht that the ‘average wage earner’ could afford, suitable for ‘a week’s cruise with the whole family’. She would certainly suit a small family but is also a capable coast-hopper for a cruising couple, or an easily manageable singlehander.
They were originally moulded and fitted out by by Marine Construction (Marcon) Ltd. of Southampton, who also moulded Trident and Rival hulls, amongst others.
She has an excellent ballast ratio and the bilge keeled version in early Yachting World tests did not perform much worse to windward than her fin keeled sister. In fact she was said to easily outperform similar bilge keel designs of her day
This particular boat has had many upgrades in this ownership including standing rigging, headlinings and cockpit cushions. She's well set up, all lines leading aft into the cockpit, main furls into lazyjacks and even a foot switch at the helm to operate the electric anchor windlass. This is a nice example, was found clean and dry and extremely well equipped and is currently ashore in a good yard so available for easy inspection.
These boat details are subject to contract.
