Comentario del broker
This Prout is a lot of boat and she has definitely looked after her current owners well - they love sailing her. Yes it is clear the headlinings require replacement but this is a job the current owners are not able to undertake. However the boat offers some amazing aspects - new Raymarine gear in the cockpit, new crispy sails and the fundamentals of a great catamaran awaiting her next adventures.
Owners comments:
Our previous boat was a Cobra 850 monohull. We were happy with her, until we had children. They were very young, and sailing at various angles was not something they enjoyed. Not wanting to give up sailing, and having had some experience of multihulls, we bought this boat. It quite simply transformed our sailing, as our children could happily play safely, almost regardless of weather. Not just because we were upright or because we knocked hours off our longer journeys, but also because this Cat can easily be sailed single handedly, and in all but the most extreme conditions, hands free. Comfortable, fast, and easy sailing that suited us all.
We have now owned her for 31 years, and have regularly sailed her to Holland and the Bay of Biscay, and most ports in-between. Before we retired, we sailed most weekends from Spring to early Autumn, plus a three-to-four-week annual holiday, in all weathers. After retirement, and with no children in tow, this changed. We went away once a year, for up to six months. This gave us time to do things we had often talked about, spending days here and there at anchor, or tied to the chains on Harbour Beach, Herm, for a couple of weeks.
We also talked about giving up sailing, as we want to do different things. As all thoughts of this disappeared the day we started our ‘last’ year, we have now lost count of the number of ‘last’ years.
But times change. Last year we moved from Surrey to Shoreham, to be near our grandchildren. There was a hiccup in our purchase, so Kungo became our only home until December. As you might expect, Kungo kept us warm, dry and comfortable right through to the day we moved into our new home.
But this year things changed. COVID restrictions meant sailing was no longer possible, particularly as we are considered to be in the vulnerable category, and we grew to enjoy our life living a few minutes’ walk from the beach. So, after years of ‘just one more year’, we have decided that our to-do list, built over years, finally takes precedence.
To finish off, if you get only a fraction of the enjoyment from her that we did, we know you will love it. Good sailing!
