Boatshed British Virgin Islands starts the BVI Spring Regatta

Saturday, 04 April 2009

Boatshed BVI, International Yacht Brokers, ] www.boatshedbvi.com have entered this year’s Spring Regatta on a Beneteau 473. Light winds are forecast for this weekend’s racing but this has not dampened Boatshed BVI’s competitive crew, led by Phil Otis and Arjan Stoof, who are hoping to emulate last year’s success of 3 bullets and a second place and match Boatshed BVI’s victory in the Sweetheart’s of The Caribbean Classic Regatta. With 3 days of racing scheduled there is sure to be plenty of excitement and controversy. We will keep you updated on race results here on the website www.boatshedbvi.com home of the International Yacht Brokers office covering Yacht Sales in the US and British Virgin Islands. Boatshed BVI has two Beneteau 473’s listed yachts for sale and both yachts are competing against each other in their class at this year’s Regatta; we know our listed yachts for sale intimately as we go onboard and take up to 70 photos of each boat and place full spec. We will be getting more feedback from the respective skippers on the sailing performance of each yacht which will be beneficial for any interested yacht purchasers. For more information on these and other great yachts for sale visit www.boatshedbvi.com , the progressive International Yacht Brokerage

Boatshed Plymouth check out a unique job opportunity onboard the historical Tamar Sailing Barge 'Shamrock'

Tuesday, 27 January 2009

Yacht Brokers, Boatshed Plymouth recently visited Cotehele Quay and Mill in Cornwall to list a boat and whilst there discovered a fantastic job opportunity for a wooden boat enthusiast to obtain a hands-on career experience with a unique piece of nautical history! Built in 1899 ‘Shamrock’ is a 57ft ketch-rigged Tamar Sailing Barge, originally used to transport cargoes in and around Plymouth on the River Tamar. She then went on to be used as a diving tender, and salvage barge, before being acquired by the National Trust in 1974, who also own the associated Cotehele Tudor House and gardens. She is now co-owned by the National Maritime Museum, and has been restored to sea-going condition. She is usually moored in her dock at Cotehele, however she does make occasional trips on the Tamar. The adjoining Quay Museum tells Shamrock's story, as well as information about trade on the river, mining, quarrying, and shipbuilding in the Tamar Valley.
