Even though it was a bit wistful to leave New York after three fantastic months there, we were excited to set off, and Henrik was especially excited to go sailing again. On a sunny Sunday morning we left New York and sailed with the current out into the heavy traffic south of Manhattan and past the Statue of Liberty, where we both had to pinch our arms, imagine sitting on your own boat below the Statue of Liberty!
We have now reached the end of our summer stay in New York. For little over three months we have belonged on a mooring on the Hudson River, and it’s been an incredible experience, but now we are also ready now to move on and see new things – and Henrik is also looking forward to start sailing again.

Boatshed have teamed up with professional drone photographers AltiVision to offer a completely new perspective on boats for sale. Launching the products at the PSP Southampton Boat Show, Neil Chapman commented “We have previously done some aerial photography of boats but helicopters and light aircraft make the costs prohibitive. By utilising drones, we hope we are able to bring this service to many people selling their boats with Boatshed”.
Boatshed is delighted to announce the following new products and services, designed to increase the marketability of boats we advertise for sale, reduce the cost of boat ownership and further strengthen the depth and reach of our network:
Listing and selling boats quickly; precisely matching sellers and buyers to save time and avoid disappointment; and adding real value to our customers ahead of the competition, are at the heart of what Boatshed is all about!
We are always looking for new Franchisees & brokers and sales agents to join our expanding team. You can become a local business owner, or work as a full or part-time broker for the Boatshed boat sales team.

Wednesday morning we decided to use sail only in the gentle winds and not start engines at all... We pulled up the anchor from the fine sand and started going south under bare poles in 10 knots of wind. All went well, with the headsail at the bow ballooning out in front of us to carry us on the leisurely 6 hour trip south in the calm waters.
In the marina the other day we talked to a young couple from Europe, who had been sailing for five years and were now heading north. Their plans were a little uncertain:
As part of the countdown to PSP Southampton International Boat Show Boatshed have VIP tickets up for grabs.
There is a slight possibility that I might make myself unpopular among both men and women with this blog post, but I am of the opinion that there are certain things I as a women don’t have to do/learn. E.g. I don't think I have to be able to mend a bike or check the tire pressure.
