Boatshed spent some time today with Sarah Outen who sets out in March 2009 to become the first female solo rower to cross the Indian Ocean. Sarah is at the London Boat Show with her boat, Serendipity, in a prime spot next to the main stage so go and see her!

Sarah's voyage will take her from Western Australia to Mauritius - 3,100 miles of ocean - in burning sun and big seas. The journey, an epic one by anyone standards, is in memory of Sarah's father, a rheumatoid arthritis sufferer, who died suddenly three years ago and Sarah hopes to raise tonnes of money for Arthritis Care.

As Boatshed is a keen supporter of anyone who really pushes themselves we thought it only right to raise awareness of this amazing trip and to say that Sarah and Solo Across the Indian:2009 is still looking for sponsorship. Click here to learn more about this amazing challenge, what inspired Sarah to set out on this adventure and what she is hoping to achieve. And to make it even more amazing, Sarah is only 23 and so when she completes her challenge will also be the youngest person ever to have rowed across the Indian Ocean as well as the first female.

Everyone at Boatshed wishes you the best of luck in your endeavours and we look forward to hearing all about it on your return. We reckon that there might be an extra special Fizz @ Five at this year's Southampton Boat Show so make sure you are there too.

London Boat Show is on until 18th January
