Board this vessel by stepping onto the gunwale and into the cockpit OR by stepping onto the stoutly built low maintenance swim step and enter the cockpit through a transom door. The cockpit is roomy enough to store and handle lines and fenders or handle fishing gear. A steering station on the starboard side of the cockpit facilitates docking and if fishing would allow the skipper to be a part of the action. A cockpit cover and enclosure keeps the cockpit dry and warmer, and expands the living area. Storage is provided under the gunwales and a table hung from the transom can be lifted up if desired. Duragrid deck tiles provide good traction and good drainage.

The main cabin is entered through a sliding door. The salon lies to the aft of the main cabin and a galley runs along the port side with a settee to the starboard side. Much of the salon was renovated in 2019. New countertops, mahogany cabinets, and a galley sink were installed. The cooktop in the galley was updated in 2019 to a Wallas Nordic DT diesel stove/heater with thermostat control. These Wallas DT unit are fantastic as they combine cabin heating and a two burner cooktop into a single device which draws from the vessel's fuel tank instead of relying on a separate source of fuel (like propane). The galley has ample storage in the form of drawers and cabinets made from beautifully finished mahogany. A Norcold AC/DC refrigerator / freezer is installed beneath the galley counter and the door to the refrigerator is finished with mahogany to match the other cabinetry. A 600w microwave is included and can be stowed when not in use.

The settee consists of a FlexSteel couch that quickly converts to a single berth if desired. The upholstery was updated in 2019. The saloon table can be folded open to expand the table size, swiveled around to increase the width of the cabin walkway, and is easily removed when not needed. Drawers provide storage underneath the settee.

The primary helm station is situated to starboard. Two forward facing seats can be flipped up or stowed away when not in use. The helm station has all navigation electronics and controls within easy reach and has good all around visibility.

The Yanmar engine is located just to the port of the primary helm station under a well-insulated cover between the forward facing seating. Like much of the interior, the dry stack exhaust casing was refinished in 2019 with roll-top style wood strips that are not only attractive but also easy to remove for service. The finished wood cabin sole has numerous hatches which provide access to the bilge.

The forward cabin is laid out in a V-berth configuration can accommodate two comfortably. A door provides separation from the main cabin. Portlights and an opening overhead hatch provide light and ventilation. Storage is provided underneath the V-berth.

The head compartment is accessed from the forward cabin and contains a Jabsco manual saltwater marine toilet, wash basin, and shower.

The foredeck is accessible from either the port or starboard side deck numerous handholds and a stainless steel railing provide a degree of safety from falls overboard.

The large cabin top is outfitted with a stainless steel roof rack which was installed in 2017. A Yakima Cargo Box is installed on the starboard side of the roof rack. Open rack space on the port side and aft of the cargo box provides storage for other gear such as a kayak + tender + crab/shrimp pots. 200 watts of solar panels were intelligently installed on the Yakima Box. The cargo box provides flexibility to store a variety of items without filling up the interior cabinetry.

Hot water is provided by a Seaward 6 gal water heater (120V + engine heat).

2 VIRTUAL TOURS - 1 VIDEO - 112 PHOTOS - FULL SPECS & BROKER'S COMMENTS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS JACK TAR 26 FAST TRAWLER - CONTACT WATERLINE BOATS PORT TOWNSEND!

This is a ready to cruise and attractive vessel inside and out, that is loaded with thoughtful features and upgrades.

This pocket-sized fast trawler has a track record of serious cruising, yet is compact enough to still be trailerable. Custom built in 2000, this trawler has cruised both coasts and the mid-west. The hull design and the 230 hp Yanmar 4LHA-STE with ~1300 hours allow for cruising at 10-12 knots and a top speed of 20 knots. A bow thruster simplifies docking.

This fast trawler displays a Downeast appearance and the dry stack exhaust adds character. The interior is rich in natural wood and is classically nautical. Cabinet and drawer faces, beams, shelves, and trim are all fashioned out of custom milled mahogany and the interior decks are teak and holly. I'm told an entire truck load of mahogany went into building this boat, and that may not be a stretch.

Two steering stations, including one in the cockpit, simplify docking, and would allow this trolling valve equipped fast trawler to be an effective recreational fishing vessel. She would be equally well suited for gunkholing the PNW or cruising the Great Loop.

The current owner has made numerous updates over the past eight years including a renovation of much of the interior, a complete update to exterior topside and bottom paint, the addition of a Wallas DT diesel stove/heater, 200 watts of solar, a large roof rack for carrying gear / tender / kayaks, updates to the electronics, and more.
