Broker's Comments
Cruising World reviewed the J/97 back in 2010 and summed up by saying "Wherever you're headed, the J/97 will provide the joy of sailing". Considered a true racer/cruiser she scored highly all round and particularly for her sailing performance whilst remaining easy to handle and comfortable enough to be enjoyed by the family
She has been raced by experienced crews and posted good results but is considered to be one of the more lightly used of the J/97s and has always been well cared for. Sails and cushions are stored ashore and all gear maintained and serviced regularly and she was found clean, dry and very well presented.
The cockpit and decks are uncluttered and again versatility is the key with enough space and comfort for cruising and everything laid out for ease of use. Asymmetric downwind sails fly from a retractable bowsprit controlled from the helm making her ideal for shorthanded sailing as well as fully crewed
Down below she is light and airy, easy to clean and maintain but attractive with it and with a separate heads/shower area and lots of useable storage throughout she would be a pleasure to stay aboard.
