Broker's Comments

Founded by Warren Luhrs who started applying production line efficiencies to the building of sailing Yachts. The first Hunter Yacht, the HUNTER 25, was launched In 1973 to a design of John Cherubini’s.
Luhrs an avid single handed ocean racer used his yachts Thursday’s Child and Hunter’s Child. To develop many of the innovations that later became the trademarks of Hunter production models. These include Bergstrom & Ridder (B&R backstayless ) rigs, main sheets mounted on arches above the cockpit as well as the use of water-ballast.
The Hunter 25 as well as many of the models that followed her was extremely well received and Hunter Marine soon became a major force in the yacht manufacturing industry.
In August 2012 Hunter Yachts was sold to Mr. David E. Marlow, the builder of Marlow Yachts and was renamed Marlow Hunter.
