The engine is reported to have been removed and rebuilt in 2002 approximately 500 hours ago. The 2009 survey mistakenly identifies it as fresh water cooled. Current mechanical reports it runs well however showing signs of corrosion around the coolant system. Maintenance is currently being done to replace an external oil line and fuel fittings. Electrical system is wired for a wind generator with none present. There are two alternators on the engine one being a Balmar 100 AMP.
Watermaker is PUR 12 volt 2.5 gal per hour with spares.

Identified on the Ted Brewer Yacht design web site as a Corten 40 Auxiliary Cruiser for steel construction, double hard chine, outboard rudder. Built in Victoria, BC by Gary Irwin. Displacement is 29,600 LBS, Displacement to length ratio 357, SA/Disp Ratio-16.70, Prismatic Coeff-.55, Capsize Screening Factor 1.59. This is a heavy built bluewater cruiser with one round trip to New Zealand under her keel. Tiller steering with windvane and auto pilot make her very easy to control. Hard dodger protects the helmsman, wide side decks with strong life rails and pulpits. A bow sprit extends the on deck length to 45 feet with weathervane steering adding another 2 feet for an overall of 47 feet at the slip.

Steel exterior construction gives way to warm woods below. Both port and starboard sides have large single berths curtained for privacy. Most of the nav electronics are at the starboard side nav station and desk at the aft of the salon cabin with a full galley to port. Settees on both sides and a good size mahogany table make for comfortable seating and eating. A Dickenson Diesel heater is to Port next to the access forward to the main cabin. Head is to starboard with hanging locker to port. A large forward "V"Berth style cabin has lots of storage and window light from forward looking windows and a large Lewmar hatch that looks up at the mast.
The wood interior appears somewhat rough-hewn by modern standards but it's nicely done, fits well and is smooth. It has a very "homey" feel. The upholstery could stand to be upgraded as could the foam cushions but generally it has a very nice comfortable interior. No signs of window or hatch leaks. This could be a very sound and comfortable long range bluewater cruiser.

Comentario del broker
Just reduced another $6000! This steel Ted Brewer designed cutter could easily be considered an expedition-style vessel. Many steel hulled boats have a wooden house or decks. This one is all metal and built with workboat stylings. From the solid steel bow sprit to the huge hydraulic windlass and the cabin trunk overhangs she looks like she could endure rugged conditions. Yet down below she is warm, pretty and comfortable. She was heavily upgraded in 2002 for a South Sea adventure and with modest upgrades she looks to be ready to go again. If you are looking for offshore adventure and you're on a budget this boat would be a good choice.
