These are Junk rigged sails with full battens. This type of rig has proven to provide a great variety of adjustment to varying wind conditions. Ease of handling and great efficiency for long distance cruising are the hallmarks of the junk rig. It should be noted that an advantage of this type of Schooner junk rig provides a much lower center of effort from the combined sail area and is adjustable to keep that center of effort low to add to the overall stability when sailing in heavy weather conditions.
All sails are in need of minor maintenance. The last survey notes that sails to be serviceable but that much of the running rigging needs attention.

A walk-through description: starting below in the bow is the chain locker with 2" steel pipe chain guide. Aft to port and starboard are storage lockers and small work counters with hatch above. This is a good mechanical work station. Aft to port and starboard is a sleeping cabin with two large single bunks with storage above. Aft to port is an enclosed head with sink and to starboard is a full-size shower. This cabin is separated from the main cabin by a clever sliding "pocket" door to provide privacy. The main saloon features a settee to port with storage above and below. To starboard is a very large dining area with a round table with comfortable curved seating. Aft and to starboard is the L-shaped galley and to port is a counter above the refrigeration that is both top and front loading. Aft and to port is the companionway to the deck and outside helm station. On the port side of the aft deck is the companionway to the aft double cabin with the navigation station VHF radio and instrument panel for the engine. Below both companionways is the access to the engine room. All areas provide plenty of ventilation and natural light through deck prisms and overhead hatches.
The galley features a large Dickinson diesel stove with oven and a small countertop two burner propane stove. Lots of counter space with storage below in drawers and cupboards. Good ventilation is provided with port lights and overhead hatch. Cabin heat is provided by the Dickinson diesel stove and electric space heaters while on shore power.

The Thomas Colvin Pipestrelle design is the 60' version of the popular 42' Gazelle. This big world traveler features a junk rig in the schooner design. Major features are: Corten steel construction; wide open deck spaces; deck-stepped masts in over-built tabernacles; traditional dead eye standing rigging; oversize deck railings and lifelines; three major private sleeping areas. She was designed, built and equipped for ocean cruising. This seller is willing to look at proposals for owner financing subject to satisfactory details.
